Ageing and Gerontology

An ageing global population poses urgent challenges to society that we need to raise awareness about and find solutions to. Our titles on our Ageing and Gerontology list, such as Critical Questions for Ageing Societies, Precarity and Ageing and Grandparenting Practices Around the World, are at the forefront of these important discussions and we want to ensure that invaluable research is made accessible.

We are seeking to publish broad research that fills a clear gap in the current literature, pushing forward knowledge and re-framing perspectives. We are particularly interested in international and comparative works for our established Ageing in a Global Context series, published in association with the British Society of Gerontology. If you are interested in writing for us, please see the Commissioning Editor information below.

Emily Ross, Commissioning Editor

I joined Bristol University Press after 14 years working in various editorial roles at Routledge. After spending my whole career at a large commercial press, I was drawn to working for a smaller university press, and in particular one which places such high emphasis on responding to the global social challenges of our time. I love the whole process of publishing a new book, and feel privileged to be involved throughout, seeing our ideas and collaborations with authors take shape from initial conception right through to final book publication. I am excited to be managing such a well-regarded list at Bristol University Press, and look forward to playing a part in further growing and developing our Ageing and Gerontology publishing in the future.
