Project Work and Writing Tasks - Chapter 9

Project work

Take a look at Psychologies magazine, which offers psychologically inspired life advice to readers in a number of countries and languages. It has its own website (www.psychologies.com), as well as spaces on social networks such as Facebook and Instagram.

To what extent does its content reflect the sociological imagination? To what extent does it imagine the self and social relationships differently? How useful is its advice to help its readers cope with everyday life problems? Why?

Writing task

  2. What does the author mean when they speak of the fundamental attribution error of psychological story telling?

  3. Please conclude by answering the question, why does sociological storytelling matter?
