Bristol University Press is delighted to partner with the OA Switchboard
Bristol University Press is delighted to partner with the OA Switchboard to improve how open access (OA) publication data is shared. This collaboration simplifies communication between publishers, institutions, libraries and funders through the use of standardized metadata.
Bristol University Press now provides automatic updates on OA articles to those using OA Switchboard. This efficient data delivery allows libraries and institutions to better manage and analyse publication information, integrating it seamlessly into their workflows.
This initiative enhances transparency for Bristol University Press’s growing range of OA journal articles, helping libraries track their authors' OA publications via all publishing models, including our uncapped Read and Publish initiative.
Julia Mortimer, Director of Journals and Open Access at Bristol University Press, said, “This is an invaluable partnership for automating and scaling reporting processes, essential for OA transition. We are excited for the efficiency and connectivity this initiative brings to all stakeholders.”
“Our organization is an independent and industry-wide initiative that provides a central hub for stakeholders to exchange OA-related publication-level information,” said Yvonne Campfens, Executive Director of OA Switchboard. “We are excited that BUP is now connected to the practical tool that they’re helping shaping, as BUP recognized the importance of a community-led collaborative initiative.”
The OA Switchboard initiative is a global, non-profit collaboration involving funders, institutions and publishers. It aims to provide essential infrastructure, standards and back-office services to support the implementation of open access strategies across various business models, policies, and agreements.
