We hope you are enjoying the International Transdisciplinary Conference 2021 (ITD21).

Bristol University Press is an award-winning, non-profit social science publisher addressing global social challenges and supporting the research practices, methods and theories that often accompany challenge-led research.

We publish on inter/transdisciplinarity, are well-known for our publications on participatory and co-produced research, and support indigenous knowledge too.  As a publisher with a long history of linking research, policy and practice our impactful marketing strategies seek to ensure the research we publish has a broad reach both within and beyond academia.

Philippa Grand, Publisher

After completing my PhD in Modern British History at the University of Manchester in 2002 I moved into the world of academic publishing, working with leading publishers including Manchester University Press and Routledge. I spent ten years at Palgrave Macmillan, commissioning in various subject areas across the social sciences, but mostly with a focus on sociology.

I’m delighted to be part of the team at Bristol University Press, whose mission as a not-for-profit scholarly publisher looking to make a real difference is one I deeply admire. I’m passionate about the importance and value of social science research to society, keen to understand more about how interdisciplinarity is changing the research landscape, and privileged to work with academics and researchers who are examining some of the most pressing issues of our times.
