Student Reading List

Dear students,

The European Journal of Politics and Gender (EJPG) welcomes you to another academic year in the hope that it will be as exciting for you as it is challenging. As in previous years, we have put together a reading list focusing on the study of gender, sexuality, intersectionality and politics. We thought granting free access to a small specially curated collection of our recent articles would support your engagement with coursework and help spark interest in this field of research.

Since the launch of EJPG in 2017, one of our main aims has been to edit a journal which is attractive and informative for students so that the future of gender, sexuality and intersectionality research is looked after well. EJPG is committed to publishing agenda-setting research on politics and gender which reflects the theoretical, methodological and epistemological diversity of the discipline. It also provides a forum for dialogue across the broad spectrum of politics and gender research. We owe a huge debt to the pioneering work of political science scholar-activists in Europe and elsewhere whose rigorous research and activism brought the study of politics, gender and sexuality centre-stage.

All of the articles in the EJPG Student Reading List are free to access until 31 December 2022.

We have selected three themes:

  1. Doing gender in empirical research
  2. Political participation
  3. The politics of bodily autonomy

Are there any themes you would like to see addressed in EJPG in the future?

This was only a selection of our EJPG articles. You are more than welcome to explore EJPG further. We have interesting articles in our free sample issue and our Editors' Choice collection

Last but not least: if you see any pressing, urgent or timely themes that are missing in EJPG, do get in touch with us and let us know about the areas you think we should investigate further. We cannot wait to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Editors very often need their readers to show them the way.

Thank you for your interest in EJPG, we hope you will find something of interest for you here. As we said, you are our readers of the future and we have high hopes for you!
