Policy Press

Publishing with a Purpose

Surveillance camera banner

We are looking to publish high-quality, important and international research in this field. Studies in criminology deal with topics people can relate to - real life ethnographies in marginalised communities, the harms caused by working and research into the impact of fake clothes. Through our innovative research-led publications we have the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's everyday lives

Our Criminology list is rapidly-expanding and features boundary-pushing work in formats ranging from monographs and textbooks to trade books for the general reader. We are committed to working with the most respected international authors to bring new and exciting perspectives on a wide range of subjects. We are particularly interested in scholarship that tackles the global social challenges of our time.

We are actively seeking new work in the following subject areas:

  • global and transnational crime
  • organised crime
  • victimology
  • criminology and the global South
  • critical criminology
  • green criminology
  • race and crime
  • social harm
  • youth justice
  • domestic violence

We also have dedicated a criminal justice list, published under our Policy Press imprint.

Meet the Editor

Rebecca Tomlinson, Associate Commissioning Editor

I have been at Policy Press for six years and am excited to now be involved with Bristol University Press’ Criminology list.

I enjoy my work because I get to meet people who are incredibly passionate about what they do and helping them see the culmination of their work in a book is very rewarding. We are lucky to get to publish things that will make a difference to society and lead to positive change.
