Criminology

It’s an exciting time to be a part of Bristol University Press’s criminology list. We are rapidly expanding our publishing to feature boundary pushing work with innovative research-led publications. Studies in criminology allow us to deal with topics people can relate to; from ethnographies in marginalised communities to the impact fake clothes or the low-paid work has on society.

We are particularly interested in high-quality, international impact focused scholarship that tackles the global social challenges of our time.

We are actively seeking new work in the following subject areas:

  • global and transnational crime
  • organised crime
  • cultural criminology
  • victimology
  • criminology and the global South
  • critical criminology
  • green criminology
  • race and crime
  • social harm
  • youth justice
  • domestic violence

We also have dedicated a criminal justice and policing list, published under our Policy Press imprint.

Meet the Editor

Rebecca Tomlinson, Associate Commissioning Editor

Since starting at Policy Press over six years ago, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some of the most important contributions to the debate on social challenges around the globe. I feel lucky to be a part of the team at this time of great change and to be a part of the beginning of Bristol University Press.

As the commissioning editor to our ever expanding Criminology list, every day I get to work with people greatly passionate about what they do. It is an absolute pleasure to see the culmination of their work and I am proud to be a part of this unique platform, publishing books that will make a difference to society.
